CSS Pseudo-elements experiment

This was an experiment with using type as texture for a header treatment. By utilizing the :before pseudo element to layer type on top of the H1, I was able to achieve a visually intruging introduction to a short story. I reduced the letter spacing and line height to the point where the letter forms laid on top one another to create a mass of extruding bits of type. Improvements to this treatment could come in the form of a set of media queries to adjust the type size of the header at various screen widths.

Look under the hood here.
